Birthdays

Today we celebrated our oldest daughter's 3rd birthday. She decided a while back that having a birthday party at home just was not the cool thing to do when all of her friends were having birthday parties at all those places that specialize in birthday party fun. Jon and I decided to have her party at a local church that has an indoor tunnel and slide area. I went a few days early to give them the deposit check and to also let Audrey check it out. She was so excited to see where her party was going to be. The lady at the church told Audrey that she could climb and play while we talked about all the party details. Audrey was thrilled. She threw off her shoes and started up the platforms. A few minutes later I heard screaming. Audrey was halfway up the platforms when she decided she was too scared to climb any higher and also too scared to go down. Once I climbed up and got Audrey down, she told me she was scared and wasn't sure she wanted her party there...after all the time I spent looking into party places I wasn't going to change it now...we ended up having her party there anyway. She had so much fun playing with her cousins and her friends...and amazingly she didn't get stuck once!

It is hard to believe that she is already 3 years old. It seems like just the other day we were on our way to the hospital to have her. Audrey has been such a blessing to our family. I never knew how much I could love a child until I had her. We are so thankful for her and excited for all the many birthdays to come. Happy birthday, bug! We love you!!!
